This week Pastor Trey challenged us to add our 3rd and final Spiritual Discipline-Fasting. Every day this week, you’ll receive an email with a Bible Passage about fasting and some resources to help you decide if and when you’d like to try a fast.
The goal of fasting is to remove distractions so we can focus more clearly on who God is and what He may be speaking to you. This can be fasting from food, entertainment or social media. It may mean giving up soda, TV, or a meal. Fasting looks different for everybody and should be prayed about.
This week along with reading your Bible and praying, ask God how you can hear Him more clearly and do it! Share your results or thoughts at the bottom of this page!
This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, or bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
