Our challenge this week is for you to read one chapter of the Bible per day. After this week you may decide you want to read more or you want to read less.
To get started reading the Bible, all you have to remember is SOAP.
Scripture (read today’s scripture).
Observation (note what really stands out to you in the passage).
Application (think about how you can apply what you read in your life).
Prayer (ask God to help you apply what you have just read).
For more plans, resources or to read the Bible online, go to: Bible.com.
Here’s an example from Pastor Trey’s personal Bible study notes to help you get started this week.
Some notes on Ephesians 1
V. 4: Before the creation of the world…God knew us and loved us. He CHOSE us, so we should never fear how he feels about us. We should find freedom in knowing the God of the Universe loves us completely.
V. 7: He proved his love when he bought our freedom with Jesus’ life. Jesus paid the price so we could have a relationship with God
V. 10: Jesus is in control which means we can find peace in our relationship with him. We have NOTHING to fear!
V.18: What am amazing prayer! I pray that God’s light will flood all our hearts as we seek to know him more over the next 21 days!
Which of the observations above stick out the most you? Did God say something else to you through His word? The key now is to APPLY in your life what God spoke through His word! What should you now DO because of what HE said?
