We had an amazing start to our Room To Grow offering this past Sunday! Thank you to everyone who gave to help make room for 300 new people in our church. We are so excited to see so many people working together to help us make Step 2 of Room To Grow a reality.
While we are off to a great start, we have not quite reached our goal of $150,000. We know many of you were out of town or were not ready to give yet, so we will be keeping the offering open for the next 2 weeks in order to give everyone a chance to participate. As a reminder, Step 2 of Room to Grow will allow us to:
- Add an additional 35 elementary students per hour
- Grow an additional 15 preschoolers per hour
- Give our Wellspring Students more space for their growing needs for more Tribe space on Wednesday nights
- Create more opportunities for our Groups to meet during the week as we increase our need for more circles
- Allow for us to host even more events for our LoveMB Community Partners
- And increase our capacity for adults by 100 in our auditorium on Sunday morning
- Ultimately, this step enables us to reach 300 more people each Sunday!

Why do we need to make Room to Grow?
We are full in the 10 am service! This is the service that our guest families prefer to attend and our auditorium and kids spaces are at capacity in this service. Our Wellspring Students are also in need of more gathering spaces for Wednesday night.
What will making Room to Grow do for our church?
Churches see slowed growth when their largest service is full. Making Room to Grow will create space for more people to come to Wellspring and experience God here in all of our services. The expansion will also allow for more intentional experiences for our Wellspring Kids and a better experience for everyone in our auditorium. It will also allow for more environments for spiritual development in Wellsping Kids, Wellspring Students, and our Groups (Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies and Community Groups).
Does making the auditorium bigger mean we will go back to two services?
No. We have communities built within those other 2 services and we expect to continue to grow in all three.
What will we be doing in Step 2?
We will be:
- Adding a new elementary theatre
- Adding a new preschool classroom
- Adding capacity for 100 more people in the auditorium
- Various improvements to lights, sounds, and video in service
Will we be adding any restrooms?
Not in Step 2. Although new restrooms are in future plans, Step 2 is about physically creating more space.
When will construction start? And when will it end?
We plan to begin construction during the month of June. We hope to have everything completed and open the new rooms by mid-August
How much do we need to raise?
We are asking all who call Wellspring home to prayerfully consider how God might be calling them to donate to this project. As a church, we need to raise approximately $150,000 in order to complete construction, up-fit the new kid’s rooms, and expand the auditorium.
Isn't this over and above our normal giving?
Occasionally God asks His people to give more than the tithe, or the first 10% of their income. We believe this is one of those times for our church. Every person who has found their place at Wellspring is a result of somebody else investing in that space. Also, not everybody who comes to Wellspring gives or gives regularly, so this is an amazing opportunity for our church to come together and honor God with our gifts.
How can I give?
Great question. We will have special “Room to Grow” envelopes available on Sunday, May 19th (the day we will take the offering).
